Black History Month Dailypay’s Dwight Lawson on Inspiration

An inspirational black man in my life
would be my grandfather. My grandfather was born in
the 1930’s during segregation and was working at Ohio Bell. When he first started working at Ohio Bell, he was making a little over
30 cents an hour By the time he retired
over 30 years later he made more than
$100,000 annually. That was promotions of over
ten positions going through segregation
and integrating Ohio Bell and that’s why he’s such an
inspirational figure to me because not only was he able
to grow his life and career, but also him family’s. I didn’t even have to worry
about college because of him.
